Music connects us to identity, history, and emotion in ways words alone cannot. This unique music therapy and choir program in York Region supports people living with memory loss and their care partners—bringing joy, connection, and healing through song.

Our weekly choir grew out of our music therapy program. We come together to share with others the joy of music that is truly from our heart. We have repertoires of music that we perform in Long Term Care, Retirement homes, and Adult Day Programs throughout York Region.

Our Living with Us is a living model in a home environment that requires family involvement. We believe that the best quality control for living with dementia happens when families are involved. We can house up to 5 women. The care ratio is 5 women, to 1 PSW, 1 Recreational Therapist, volunteers and family.
Unlike traditional care models such as retirement homes or long-term care setting, Memory Lane Home Living Inc. offers a co-operative way of living. It is based on the well-established and evidence-based European framework. In North America, one might compare this model with the popular 90’s show “The Golden Girls” (with supports). Families and friends are actively involved as part of this community.
There are four components to our model at Memory Lane Home Living:
Residents who benefit from a small and familiar environmnet with peer connections, who continue to live life as they did before, but now with supports.
Families and Friends of the Residents who participate in the shared decision-making of the house and the care support. Families gain a sense of community and a peace of mind in knowing their loved ones are well cared for.
Care Service is a reputable, insured care company with around-the-clock supportive care. The care company also achieves full-time employment for their care staff, creating a stable, happier workforce.
Memory Lane Home Living coordinates the daily housing initiatives, recreational activities, and volunteers. We support our residents and their family and friends with the cooperative structure.
